19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a difficult season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after that period of 2023.

Success also indicates he has achieved 21 victories at 21 different competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

His defensive approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.

The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
